London April 2012

Day # 1.
Finally! Me and Julia are going to London! Long awaited vacation for both of us!

The first day was mostly spent recovering from the long flight and exploring the area...

Day # 2.
We started with a bus tour of London. What a beautiful city and there is so much to see.

And the rest of the day was spent at the mysterious Stonehenge (per Julia's request).
 Day # 3.
Finally the weather got better. The day started with a city walk, we visited the St. Paul's Cathedral, and then walked across the Millenium Bridge to the Tate Modern museum (again per Julia's request). After spending some time at the museum we walked around the London Eye (the line was too long to wait, and to my great satisfaction we decided to skip it).

The afternoon was spent at the Covent Garden, where we met and had lunch with our newly found relatives Masha and Brian. Shopping along the famous Oxford Street and dinner at Prince Alfred  pub completed the day.

Day # 4.
The Tower of London, probably my favorite place in London so far. Spent several hours there, visited the Crown Jewels exhibition and other places of interest.

Then off to see Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament (unfortunately not in session, spring break for them as well). In the evening we completed the day with watching the Ceremony of the Keys at the London Tower.

Day # 5.
The last and best day in London. We started with the Victoria and Albert Museum "of beautiful things", and we loved it. After that, some shopping at Harrods, where we bought several souvenirs, and mostly walked around enjoying the beautiful decorations. After that the Kensington gardens, where we had afternoon tea at the Orangery. It was very, very enjoyable. And finally for us, it was theater night, and we saw the "39 steps" and loved it!

Day # 6.
Time to go home. We had a wonderful time in London, and hope to go back one day...
